Stenkalles grund Offshore Wind Farm

15 Feb 2024: Cloudberry has announced in their Q4-23 reports that Stenkalles Grund was denied permission to increase the size of the turbines, which has therefore made it financially unattractive due to recent CAPEX increases. Cloudberry are reviewing whether they can use the grid connection for a solar farm and battery storage in its place. The company has taken a NOK 57m (€5m) write down as a result.

This initiative aligns with the State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF) and supports the construction and operation of two significant offshore wind farms over the next 20 years.

Ocean Winds has successfully exported the first power from the Moray West offshore wind farm to the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS). This milestone marks a significant step towards the full commissioning of the 882 MW wind farm, which is expected to be fully operational in 2025.
