31 Oct 2023: Update (October 2023): Freja Offshore has applied to the Ministry of Climate and Economic Affairs for permission to build and operate the Dyning offshore wind farm. Its application is for up to 2.5 GW, an increase on previous plans Update (September 2023): Assuming Freja follows patterns established with previous permit applications, 4C anticipates permit application in June 2024. Update (June 2023): There have been no new updates regarding Skyborn's first permit application submission. Therefore, 4C has delayed this event by 6 months, i.e. Q3 2023. Update (February 2023): Hexicon plans to submit first permit application in Q1 2023. Previous (February 2022): Hexicon plans to apply for a permit in 2023.

The European Commission has greenlit a €10.82 billion French scheme aimed at bolstering offshore wind energy, a crucial step towards achieving a net-zero economy. This initiative aligns with the State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF) and supports the construction and operation of two significant offshore wind farms over the next 20 years.

Ocean Winds has successfully exported the first power from the Moray West offshore wind farm to the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS). This milestone marks a significant step towards the full commissioning of the 882 MW wind farm, which is expected to be fully operational in 2025.
