Triumph Subsea Services orders two new installation vessels

Triumph Subsea Services has announced that it has issued a Letter of Intent to Brodosplit JSC, Croatia, for two firm GustoMSC NG-14000XL Wind Turbine Installation Vessels (WTIVs) for the European market.
In-line with the company's core values of Green, its ethos of Technology and its mission to be Net Zero by 2035 or sooner the vessels have been designed from the onset to be future proofed and will be DNV GL classed with numerous Green notations including FC(Power), the first WTIVs to have this notation. Along with the installation of the latest advanced hybrid technology, energy recovery and autonomous systems that reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 50% compared to similar units.


Once the fuel cell technology is ready for installation it will be short duration dry-docking to then reconfigure the vessel into a 100% Net Zero emissions vessel. Expected steel cutting of the first hull is Q12021 and delivery in Q3 2023. This new contract will ensure the sustainability of the Croatian shipbuilding industry and create numerous employment opportunities and supply chain revenues for local and EU regions.


The company stated that it is looking forward to building the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly WTIVs for use within the EU offshore wind and renewables market.
