Turbine towers ready for delivery

North Highlands Initiative has uploaded an image, showing a batch of turbine towers, for the Beatrice offshore wind farm, at Nigg Harbour ready for loading out.

Earlier this month, BOWL announced that out of the total 86 turbine and OTM jackets, 56 of them have now been installed at the Beatrice offshore wind farm. Alongside that commission works on the second OTM took place, with support from the Seajacks Kraken and Island Crown.

Located in the Moray Firth, the Beatrice project will be Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, comprising of 84 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The 588MW capacity array is expected to be capable of generating enough electricity to power approximately 450,000 homes. First power is currently scheduled for July 2018 with commissioning expected to follow in 2019.
