Titan Wind Energy to invest €300 million in Cuxhaven monopile production plant

Titan Wind Energy has announced a major investment decision to construct a state-of-the-art monopile production facility in Cuxhaven, Northern Germany. The facility, set to commence production in 2025, represents an investment of up to €300 million and aims to produce monopiles up to 14 metres in diameter, 140 metres in length, and weighing 3,500 tons. This new plant will create over 600 jobs and significantly boost the global offshore wind energy supply chain.

Mr. Junxu Yan, Founder and CEO of Titan Group, emphasised the company's commitment to global net zero targets, stating, "Today's investment decision for Titan Wind Energy GmbH in Cuxhaven is an important step in our long-term global offshore wind expansion strategy."

With an annual production capacity exceeding 500,000 tons, the facility will serve offshore wind markets in the North Sea, Baltic Sea, and the USA. This capacity is crucial to meet the increasing demand in the offshore wind industry.

Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, highlighted the significance of this investment, noting, "It is an essential step for the industrial transformation in Germany. Offshore wind energy is a key technology for the energy transition."

Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs, described the decision as a landmark for the region, adding, "The North Sea will be our powerhouse with Cuxhaven in a central position."

Uwe Santjer, Lord Mayor of Cuxhaven, welcomed the investment, stating, "The €300 million investment and the creation of numerous jobs will significantly strengthen the position of the German Offshore Industry Center in Cuxhaven."

The new facility will position Cuxhaven as a key European offshore hub, enhancing its role in the global offshore wind market and supporting Germany's energy transition goals.
