nCentricnCentric has installed it’s wireless communication systems on board of the Deme’s Sea Installer for offshore installation works in the Rentel wind farm.

With these nCentric nodes Deme will be able to access 5G high speed internet on board, this will allow for fast communications onboard the vessel. The systems consist of a combination of 5G LTE and Mesh wireless nCentric nodes.

The 309MW
Rentel wind farm, located 34km from the shore and will comprise of 42 SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The turbines will have monopile foundations, each weighing 1250t and measuring 8m in diameter.

Deme started the installation in May 2018 and the goal is to erect a full wind turbine in a 5 lift sequence. Meaning installing the complete tower, nacelle and the 3 blades in less then 24 hours and have the turbine fully commissioned the next day. First electricity generation is expected to occur before the summer.
