Rentel's open day

Rentel NV is holding an open yard day at the Port of Ostend, the construction site of the Rentel offshore wind farm, on the 6^th of May.

Members of the public will be able to go visit the construction site from 10.00 till 17.00 (local time) without the need to register or pay. The open day is an unguided tour so visitors are able to take in the views of the tower parts, nacelles, and blades at their own pace. Rentel NV state this will allow the public to learn about the challenges engineers face on a daily basis in the construction of an offshore wind farm.

Rentel NV will also be doing an educational trail for younger attendees in an attempt to teach them about renewables and what the future holds for the sector.

The 309MW Rentel wind farm, located 34km from the shore, will comprise of 42 SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The turbines will have monopile foundations, each weighing 1250t and measuring 8m in diameter.
