PGE to expand power portfolio

PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna is interested in purchasing all shares of the Polenergia energy group listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The acquisition of Polenergia's assets would also affect the reduction of the average emissivity of the PGE Group, primarily due to the increase in the portfolio of wind power held.

Development projects carried out by Polenergia are supplemented by activities already carried out by the PGE Group.

In line with PGE's business strategy, the Group's mission is to provide security and development through reliability of supply, technical excellence, modern services and partner relations.

The acquisition of Polenergia's assets would allow the PGE Group to increase its electricity and heat production, increase its share in the distribution segment, and increase its portfolio of wind power.

The Polenergia capital group is an energy group that have a hand in conventional and renewable energy sources, distribution networks and offshore wind farm projects.

The PGE Group is a leader on the heat market and wants to maximise this potential. In addition, it initiates changes in the entire segment, adapting the offer to the needs of both current and future customers.

The potential purchase of Polenergia shares is treated by the PGE Group as the fastest way to implement a balanced inorganic development, and thus a long-term investment of a strategic nature. Announcement of the tender offer, in the opinion of PGE, is the most transparent way to present these intentions and allows to start talks with Polenergia shareholders.
