JBA Consulting has announced the use of its ForeCoast® Marine software in a pioneering floating offshore wind project led by Morek Engineering and funded by the UK Government's Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition.

This initiative aims to design low-carbon installation vessels specifically for floating offshore wind farms.
The project addresses the need for advanced offshore service fleets capable of exploring deeper waters and stronger winds to meet global net-zero targets. ForeCoast® Marine will simulate and optimize the vessel designs under various environmental conditions, ensuring they operate within the energy limits of clean fuels. This will involve evaluating vessel performance on key metrics such as carbon emissions, operational costs, and logistical efficiency.

Nick Law, Technical Director at JBA Consulting, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the software's capability to handle complex marine operations. Bob Colclough, Managing Director of Morek Engineering, highlighted the software's role in achieving efficiency and emission reductions, contributing to a future-ready floating wind installation vessel.
