India push back EOI plans

The Indian National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) has relaxed the rules on the EOI for its planned 1000MW offshore wind farm.

It has pushed back the deadline date for bidders to submit their EOI proposals. The original deadline was the 25th May, 2018, which has now been moved to 8th June, 2018.

NIWE has also reduced the capacity a company must have installed in offshore wind from 500MW down to 250MW. As well as this, bidders were forced to remain within the 400km boundary set by the NIWE, it has decided to change this and allow bidders to select any location within the EEZ of India subject to clearance from concerned ministries.
