Peter Madsen RederiMichael Normann, former Project Director and Head of Project Management at Siemens Wind Power, has been appointed CEO of Danish marine contractor Peter Madsen Rederi (PMR). The company has a track record in the offshore wind industry and is looking to build its presence in the sector under the new management PMR says.

"I am very excited to join PMR who has been established as a quality service provider to the offshore wind industry since its early days around 15 years ago", says Normann and adds: "The industry has developed tremendously over the past few years and I am looking forward to developing the activities at PMR further to maintain a strong presence in the sector."

PMR’s activities in the offshore wind industry include working on some 25 offshore wind farms in Denmark, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Holland and France. The company has handled a wide range of projects including boulder clearance, installation and repair of scour protection, nearshore trenching and backfilling, installation and repair of stone beds, seabed levelling, ballasting of foundations, dredging, multibeam surveying etc.

PMR, founded in 1954, owns and operates six vessels equipped with either hydraulic excavators or grab wire cranes. All vessels are fitted with positioning and monitoring systems and spud legs.
