LamprellLamprell has commenced loading out of the East Anglia ONE jackets from their Hamriyah facility, UAE.

Lamprell won the contract for the procurement, fabrication and supply of 60 jacket foundations and associated 182 piles for East Anglia ONE back in 2016. 24 of the foundations will be subcontracted to Harland and Wolff.

The flat-packed jackets are currently making their way to Harland and Wolff for final assembly. From there they will be transported in batches to the Port of Vlissingen to be readied for installation at the wind farm.

Van Oord is responsible for the logistics of all jacket foundations and piles, sourced from various suppliers, and the transport to the marshalling port in The Netherlands. From there the foundations will be transported and installed with the Seajacks Scylla.

The £2.5bn East Anglia ONE wind farm is the first of four projects in the East Anglia region to begin construction. It is being realised solely by ScottishPower Renewables. The 714MW array will feature 102 SWT-7.0-154 direct-drive wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7MW.

Pre-piling works for the wind turbine foundations kicked off in April with the arrival of Royal Boskalis Westminister's heavy lift vessel, Bokalift. The piles each weigh in the region of 360 tons and will support the three legged jacket foundations. Full commissioning is scheduled for 2020 and the project is expected to meet the energy demands of 500,000 British households annually.
