Dominion Energy, Inc. has refuted recent claims suggesting a delay in the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. The company asserts that construction remains on track, dismissing reports as false and misleading.

On April 29, certain anti-wind factions filed a petition in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia aiming to halt CVOW construction. These efforts echo previously discredited arguments, including a recent dismissal by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in a Massachusetts offshore wind project case. Dominion Energy maintains confidence in the project's compliance with legal requirements and anticipates overcoming the petition for a construction delay.

Scheduled activities align with prior announcements, with monopile installation by the DEME-operated vessel "Orion" slated to commence between May 6 and May 8. As such, Dominion Energy dismisses any notion of a delay due to legal actions, affirming the project's adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.

The company remains resolute in its commitment to advancing the CVOW project, underscoring its significance in Virginia's renewable energy landscape.
